Federal Update: House and Senate Approve CR through December 11, President Will Sign

September 30, 2015

The House voted this afternoon to approve the temporary CR to maintain government operations through December 11th at current levels and free of any controversial policy riders. As expected, the CR needed Democratic votes to pass; the vote was 277 to 151. The Senate approved the same measure earlier this morning by a vote of 78-20. The CR now goes to the President for his signature.

Separately, House Republicans announced today that they will hold leadership elections next week, on Thursday, October 8.
